Android Phones turning into seismometers by Google

Today Google launched some new features about Android that don’t share much in common but are all interesting in their own way. There are Android Auto and Android updates for the Emergency Location Service, new accessible features thanks to the updated Lookout app, and Android Clock Bedtime widgets will now be added to all Android devices running 6.0 or later (this one The feature was Pixel just before that).

The company claims that smartphones are sensitive enough to measure P waves, the first waves to occur after an earthquake. So whenever android device(mobile phone) judge that earthquake is started it sends a notification to the central server and then the team that managed the central server will justify is it an earthquake or not.  Currently, Google will only use this statistic to display information when someone searches for “earthquake” or similar keywords. Over time, it expects to be able to send alerts based on these phone-based systems.
